Yaksha: "The pond belongs to me. Your brothers died because they drank its water before answering my questions. Do you wish to suffer the same fate?"
Yudhishtira: "I do not wish to take what does no belong to me. Ask me your questions, and I will asnwer them as best as I can."
Yaksha: "What is more important than the Earth itself?"
Yudhishtira: " One's Mother."
Yaksha: "What is higher than the heaver?"
Yudhishtira: "One's Father."
Yaksha: "What is swifter than the wind?"
Yudhishtira: "The Mind."
Yaksha: "More numerous than the blades of grass?"
Yudhishtira: "The thoughts in the mind."
Yaksha: "What is the most praiseworthy thing of all?"
Yudhishtira: "Skill."
Yaksha: "The most valuable possession?"
Yudhishtira: " Knowledge."
Yaksha: "The greatest treasure?"
Yudhishtira: "Health."
Yaksha: "The greatest happiness?"
Yudhishtira: "Contentment."
My mother once told me about the conversation between Yaksha and Yudhishthira from the Mahabharata. I recently read a Hindi version of it online, and it inspired me to create a comic based on the dialogue. The comic captures only a small snippet of their exchange, and I referred to the translation I found here.
